Geese Witherspoon

Geese Witherspoon was found with 26 other geese by the Amazon center in Ogden, at the freeway off ramp. She would cross the road multiple times a day with the other geese, risking getting hit by a car.

Technically, the lady that lived across the street from where they were found owned them. But when the officer asked her, she said she couldn’t remember if they were hers or not. Unfortunately, usually in these types of situations the owners won’t claim them because they don’t want to get in trouble or fined by the city.

That’s when Wasatch Wanderers stepped in and rescued Geese and her friends. They are all a domesticated breed of geese that can’t fly, meaning they can’t support themselves in the wild and eventually would’ve died either from starvation or getting hit by a car. We didn’t have space for all 27 geese, but were able to take in 6 of them and we think they love Sage Mountain.

Geese has a loving partner, named Ryan Goosling, who she spends all of her days with, roaming around the sanctuary. She enjoys exploring, spending time with Ryan and napping in the sun.
