Pigs on Factory Farms

Did you know??

The US raises 100 million pigs for food  each year and all are essentially on factory farms. A pig can live up to 15 years but most are slaughtered at 6 months! And this comes after a life of misery. A crate where she can not turn around or give love to her piglets before they are ripped away from her.
These sentient beings are, if not more intelligent, just as intelligent as the family dog.  They are naturally curious and mentally engaged but in these circumstances, since they can not move, they become extremely frustrated and will bang their heads against the crate or bite themselves or others through their crate.  Many become sick or die from  disease, injury, or abuse. Then they are transported on a semi truck without food or water and this can last a few days. They are weak  or dead by the time they arrive and  therefore can not put up a fight before they are brutally slaughtered.  There is a reason slaughter houses and hog farms aren’t made with windows. If one could witness the amount of suffering, it would be unbearable.
Keep this in mind next time pork and bacon is on the menu.
